And speaking of Renly’s bedroom antics…
I’m very interested to see how they handle his relationship with Margaery—whether they’re going to go with the girl cooties route or actually make him bi, which seems to be the case for him in (third-hand-description) canon. He’s clearly in love with Loras, and it would anger me if they downplayed that in any way, but I’d be tickled if they at least showed him attracted to Margaery, if not in love with her.
Thing is, bi male characters in mainstream entertainment are incredibly rare, and it would be awesome to see a genuine, sympathetic one. We see a lot of bi females (though they often fall into the Hot Bi Babe thing) but a bi male who isn’t portrayed as a closet case and/or slutty disease vector is rarer than unicorns. In fact, I can’t even think of any right now aside from good ol’ Captain Jack (and Ianto.)
If they keep him gay, fair enough. That’s good, too (especially if they keep up the relatively explicit love scenes—that’s ALSO unheard of.) But it would be kind of cool to have a unicorn character for once.
(And, here I’ll just mention my other wish for a full-on OT3. But that’s just my own thing. ;) )
