Criminal Minds AU: Morgan/Prentiss/Reid as con artists.
They answer to no one. For their own reasons, they’d been done listening to the demands of others for a long time. They don’t pretend they steal what they steal for the greater good; they do it because it just feels so damn good.
Knowing that they had each other was a plus too.
To the casual observer, Derek Morgan seems like he’s just the heavy of the three, but he’s so much more, knowing how to captivate a room with just a megawatt smile and keen conversational skills. His partners don’t ask why he only seems to go after those that have taken advantage of others.
While she also knows how to compartmentalize more than she probably should, Emily Prentiss uses her familial connections to be able to get into high class society’s biggest events. The hosts just don’t have to know that someone else with Emily’s face will be there scoring some precious jewels or stealing much too easily deserved money.
Finally, the trio has a genius in one Dr. Spencer Reid, who gave up a potential career in any academic field he wanted when his mother’s health became his number one financial priority in a world where teaching simply doesn’t pay enough. He uses his penchant for counting cards to fund her medical bills and resources for his arrangement while using his skilled hands to break into any vault he wants.
With their skills combined and their bond unbreakable in more ways than one may think, no one can stop them from taking whatever they want.
Happy Birthday, Jasper!
So basically Criminal Minds meets Leverage? I am SO there.
I made printedsoot Calvin and Hobbes style Leverage OT3 fanart for Christmas. Tiny, grumpy, upside-down Eliot Spencer might be one of my favorite things I’ve drawn all year.
Still not over this, tbh.
The Rundown Job and the OT3 of my heart
I love so many moments in this episode, and how it showcases all their skills, including the fact that Eliot is not just good at kicking ass, but he also has a wealth of knowledge that comes in handy. This episode makes it obvious why the ot3 works.
It starts with Hardison, Eliot, and Parker being badasses, and when Parker gets through the lasers and Hardison and Eliot are both checking her out and give each other the little fist bump, it makes me so happy. First of all, Hardison doesn’t even look back at Eliot because of course Eliot is looking at her and thinking that she’s hot, too. Hardison doesn’t even question the fact that Eliot has the same reaction, and he’s not jealous at all. And secondly, they think she’s sexy because of how competent she and awesome she is. They appreciate her body because it’s sexy, sure, but part of what makes her sexy is what she does with her body, her skills.
And there’s the scene when Eliot tells Parker and Hardison to get on a plane and leave because he doesn’t want them to get hurt, but Eliot doesn’t even consider leaving because he has a duty, a responsibility, and Parker says, “We agreed we all change — better or worse, we change together.” BETTER OR WORSE like the wedding vow.
And then when Hardison gets scared and Eliot says that he’s not scared because “I’ve got the best thief and the smartest guy I know chasing this guy. Hey, listen to me, you’re the smartest guy I’ve ever known, Hardison. I need that brain to get me to him. ’Cause you know if I lay my hands on him it’s done. Get me to him.” And Eliot pulls Hardison in and wraps his hand around Hardison’s neck, and Hardison focuses and starts working. Because they have faith in each other, and there is no one else they’d want by their side.
When Hardison steps on a pressure plant that’s going to blow him to pieces, Parker doesn’t even hesitate to put her face a foot away from the bomb to disable it. And then when they’re disabling the bomb and Parker and Eliot communicate with each other through head nods and expressions, because they do what needs to be done even if it were to cost them their lives.
They follow each other into situations where it is entirely possible that one of them may die, but they won’t leave each other. And they’ve been there for one another and helped one another grow as people. Eliot needed to believe that he could be something other than a killer. Parker learned to care about people and depend on them. Hardison didn’t have the same large, obvious change, but he needed to grow up and become more dependable, and he did. And they’ve been there to teach one another, to learn from one another, and to support each other when they couldn’t do anything else. They didn’t have much in the way of family before they met, and now they have family who will never leave them, and who would do anything for them. Could those three love each other more or be better for each other?
I think not.
All of this.
my idea of a romantic evening is cuddling (◡‿◡✿)
I can’t seem to stop drawing the Leverage trio help
Re: By Any Means
Incidentally, I just remembered that a couple of years ago, I did an odd little fantasy casting thing for a possible UK Leverage spinoff: http://textualdeviance.tumblr.com/post/8319222620/and-heres-the-the-whole-fantasy-cast-leverage
Funny, really, that Pottsy actually ended up getting cast in a similar show. Heh.
So this is a thing that happened tonight. NBD. If you’ll all excuse me, I’ll just be over here in the corner asdf;lkjasdfjowieakdlfjad *ded*
I LOVE this vid. Truly. Not sure if it was intentional, but some of the OT3 moments made me squee, too. :)
ELIOT: You scared?
HARDISON: You’re damn right.
ELIOT: I’m not. I’ve got the best thief and the smartest guy I know chasing this guy. Hey, listen to me - you’re the smartest guy I’ve ever known, Hardison. I need that brain to get me to him, ‘cause you know if I lay my hands on him, it’s done. Get me to him.
