This was your crusade.
                                        Now it’s our war.

Sophie: Now for the hard part. We need to steal a general.
Nate: No, it’s “Let’s go steal a general”, you know?
It’s a rallying cry.

I miss this show so much.

oh leverage i never get sick of you

I watched “The Toy Job” and “The Long Goodbye Job” today, and oh the feelings they give me.

I love “The Toy Job” so much.  Eliot’s son named Daschle, Parker’s love for Baby Joy Rage, Hardison talking about how working on blogs allows him to be “emotionally butt naked.”  I can’t even with my love.  It’s one of the few episodes where I like and care about Nate.  At the end when he tells that story about his son, it breaks my heart.

And dude, “The Long Goodbye Job” makes me cry every single time.  I know that it’s a fake out, but that scene in the van with Eliot, Hardison, and Parker just guts me every single time.  I can’t even. Or when Parker and Hardison are in the elevator shaft and Parker says that Hardison is all smashed up inside, and she’s crying… forget about it.  (Also, idyllspace and I have discussed this, but if the job had happened the way it was  shown the second time and Nate got Eliot and Hardison killed but Parker lived?  Parker would have destroyed all the things.  Seriously.  Her boys die, and I don’t even won’t to know what would happen with Parker, but it’d be ugly, and everyone would pay.)

Also, I think Leverage has my favorite ending of any television show I’ve ever seen.  Eliot, Hardison, and Parker become a canon OT3, Eliot’s declaration of love and family, and the three of them being badasses and continuing on with Leverage with Parker in charge. (And I love the fact that both Hardison and Eliot would never question answering to a woman. That’s not even an issue.)

Eliot: You know this was your crusade. Now it’s our war.

Sophie: Promise me you’ll keep them safe. [looks at Hardison and Parker]

Eliot: Until my dying day.

Nate: You know, Eliot, I’d say call if you need anything, but you never, never need anything.

Eliot: Yeah, I did. [looks at Hardison and Parker] But thanks to you, I don’t have to search anymore.

ALL THE FEELINGS. I CAN’T EVEN TAKE IT.  What I would have given for an Eliot, Parker, Hardison spinoff.

This clusterfuck of a final season for W13 has me trying to think of series finales that really worked for me—that gave closure in a good way. So far, the only one I can think of is Leverage, and maybe Primeval (if you don’t include PNW.) Sanctuary was OK, but felt a little off the whole final season. Any others?

The canon OT3

Gods, I miss these three.

I’m 110% sure the only reason season six of Leverage didn’t happen is because Eliot would have had to get together with Parker and Hardison and the network would not allow an OT3 to be undeniably canon.

Considering John Rogers more or less confirmed that’s what the finale was? Yep.

Speaking of ships that went canon.

There’s a reason I wrote a fic shortly after this episode aired. Unf.

Criminal Minds AU: Morgan/Prentiss/Reid as con artists.

They answer to no one. For their own reasons, they’d been done listening to the demands of others for a long time. They don’t pretend they steal what they steal for the greater good; they do it because it just feels so damn good.

Knowing that they had each other was a plus too.

To the casual observer, Derek Morgan seems like he’s just the heavy of the three, but he’s so much more, knowing how to captivate a room with just a megawatt smile and keen conversational skills. His partners don’t ask why he only seems to go after those that have taken advantage of others.

While she also knows how to compartmentalize more than she probably should, Emily Prentiss uses her familial connections to be able to get into high class society’s biggest events. The hosts just don’t have to know that someone else with Emily’s face will be there scoring some precious jewels or stealing much too easily deserved money.

Finally, the trio has a genius in one Dr. Spencer Reid, who gave up a potential career in any academic field he wanted when his mother’s health became his number one financial priority in a world where teaching simply doesn’t pay enough. He uses his penchant for counting cards to fund her medical bills and resources for his arrangement while using his skilled hands to break into any vault he wants.

With their skills combined and their bond unbreakable in more ways than one may think, no one can stop them from taking whatever they want.

Happy Birthday, Jasper!

So basically Criminal Minds meets Leverage? I am SO there.

About Me

Writer of dorky fantasy novels.

Singer of classical stuffs.

Shameless fanthing.

Queer/Genderqueer. Feminist. Progressive. Gen X. Northwest snob. Journalist and media-deconstruction nerd. Happily married and an adoptive parent of a most excellent little boy. Endless pontificator on topics both sublime and ridiculous. Expect both breathless pop-culture squee and wordy rageflails about social justice.

My "home" fandom is Primeval, but these days I'm most heavily into Vikings, Game of Thrones and Arrow. Check my fandoms masterlist to see the other stuff I usually post about. If it has a kickass chick, a charming rogue, and/or an adorkable nerd in it, I probably like it.

I'm an incurable OT3 shipper, particularly of the alpha male/beta male/alpha female flavor, but I ship some pairs, too (het, slash and femslash.) See my ship list for details.

I don't have much time to make fanworks these days, but I have a few fics up on AO3 and some vids on YouTube (under Talea100.)

Fun fact: I had crushes on both C-3P0 and Data.
